Jack Crandell:

I traveled with my father and mother (Dad was in the Navy) until 1953, when we settled in Princess Anne County. After graduating PAHS I worked at the Naval Air Rework Facility in Flight Test until 1972 when I accepted a position with the Va. Bch. Fire Dept. where I advanced through the ranks to Battalion Chief of Operations. I taught numerous courses at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. In 1980 Connie Pierce, a critical care nurse, and I married, and we have four children:  Kimberly, John, Jeffrey, and Wm. Christian, nine grandchildren, and many Jack Russell Terriers (terrors). In 1985 we bought Horse Island Club, an old hunting lodge that is on Knotts Island, and have been refurbishing it ever since. I retired in 1990 and enjoy woodworking, surf fishing, hunting and traveling the world.
