William Huff:
Like many fellow students, my father was in the military,
Army attached to the Navy, and after graduation we went our separate
ways. I ended up that fall at the University of Maryland, Munich, Germany
campus. Most of you went to instate or local schools, while some attended
upscale institutions. The point I am trying to make is that the four
years I spent at P.A. is the only time I ever spent four years in one place at
one time. I followed my father into the Army, and never spent more than
two and a half years in any one place. So, until I got out of the Army at
fifty, my four years in Norfolk were, in my mind, the only real home I ever
had. The only time I was able to get in contact with my fellow students
was attending three reunions, not much time to catch up with friends'
lives.
Again, thanks for your efforts to bring us all together again. I am sad that
about ten percent of our class has passed on. My hobbies are golf and
sailing. I retired as an Army Colonel with 28 years of service. I was awarded
the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, and
Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
