Kathleen Morrisette:
I married Joseph Rosser Bobbitt III from Norfolk and became
a soldier’s wife. For twenty years we moved around the U.S., as well as
Germany, and traveled extensively. We are blessed with three beautiful adult
children: two daughters, Myra Hope of Boston Massachusetts, and Foye, who lives in Norfolk. Our son, Max, married Kasia Hanula last month in Poland
and they live in Warsaw.
After graduation from the University of Maryland, European Division, I received
a Master of Divinity from the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria,
Virginia. I was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church and have had the
honor of serving five parishes in Virginia. After ordination I served two
parishes in Northern Virginia: Trinity Episcopal Church, Arlington, and St.
John’s Episcopal, McLean. My next position was Director of Chaplaincy and
Hospice Chaplain at Goodwin House, Alexandria.
Five years ago Rosser and I returned to this area and feel we have come full
circle. I have served two churches in Virginia Beach, Eastern Shore Chapel and
Galilee Episcopal Church. I now serve as Interim Rector of St. George’s
Episcopal Church, Newport News.
Rosser is a Weapons System Analyst at Institute for Defense Analysis,
Alexandria, VA, serving as an adjunct. He has an office at the Beach. Rosser
says that I followed him the first twenty years and it’s his turn to follow me
the next twenty. The journey continues and we are always open to new
challenges, as long as we’re together.
