Baxter Simmons (1990 reunion bio):

Baxter has a B.A. in Foreign Language from Randolph-Macon College and is President/Owner of Simmons Enterprises, Inc., T/A/ Rugland. He is very active in civic affairs on both local and national levels. He is a City Councilman, Chairman of Pentran, past National Board Member of American Public Transit Association, past Chairman and present Secretary of Virginia Peninsula Tourism and Conference Bureau, Chairman of Virginia Association of Public Transit Officials, Executive Committee Member of Virginia Peninsula Economic Development Council and holds many more offices and positions ofr the betterment of community and state. His hobbies are softball, waterskiing, basketball, golf, bowling and tennis. He and his wife Ruth have one son, Baxter, Jr.
