Nancy Walker:

After graduation I married U.S. Marine James Stanton and moved to Jacksonville, NC. My first job was at a church pre-school. I worked there for 19 years. I have been at Camp Lejeune as a pre-school teacher for 21 years. I love it. Working with swing-set types keeps me where the action is. Everything is new and fun to them and keeps me on my toes.

As I was working full-time at the base I could only attend night classes at Coastal Carolina Community College. I finally graduated with a degree in early childhood education. In the meantime I had three beautiful daughters, divorced the Marine and married Noel Guyot. I met him on a blind date. We have been married for 26 years this September.

Last year he had surgery for colon cancer. Now it has returned as the doctor said it could. He is going to have radiation treatment in Greensboro, NC. He will have surgery at Chapel Hill when the cancer has shrunk. For this reason, I will be unable to attend this year’s 50th celebration. I would love to have the year book mentioned and booklets from the 30th and 40th reunions too if possible.

Thanks for all the work you and the others are doing to keep us in touch with each other. Have a great time. Smile at everyone for me.
